Chelsea set to take the 2010 FA Cup?
It’s the max-resourced Chelsea against the struggling Portsmouth in the English FA Cup Final on 15th May.   Chelsea are sitting on top of the Premier League while Portsmouth are floundering at the bottom with ten of their regular squad in the treatment room and unlikely to play in the final.  Chelsea are the odds-on favorites but are they as certain to win as they look on paper?

The coming Chelsea victorys is as inevitable as the 2009 win over Everton.   The English BIG FOUR has pretty much sown up the FA cup with 18 out of the past 20 finals being won won by Chelsea, Manchester United, Arsenal or Liverpool.  Ok, so Portsmouth did beat Cardiff City in the 2008 final but that was one of the two exceptions that prove the rule.  Don’t read anything into the fact that Portsmouth are recent winners.  They didn’t beat one of the BIG FOUR.

On paper yes Chelsea are by far the favourites but then again so were Wimbledon against Liverpool in the late 80's as were Man U in the semi the year we beat Cardiff an Spurs were this years semis.

WHat people forget is that Portsmouth have more passion for a BIG GAME against anyone than most teams playing these days. We also have the most passionate fans in the country by a mile as anyone who has experienced Mr John Portsmouth Football Club Westwood and his bugle conduct Dave Drummer Anderson and the "Fratton End". When we are in full swing the fans are untouchable.
