New look Rays
What's up with the Rays getting washed up old AL East players? Manny Ramirez and Johnny Damon just signed... I thought that the Rays were all about younger guys that came up together? not free agent acquisitions that are way past their primes.

At least they're not as old as the Yankees... i think they're gunna have a tough year, especially their rotation, after missing out on Cliff Lee and Andy Pettitte's retirement.

Boston is probably the front runner to win the AL.  Manny & Damon aren't the best of signings, but might be better than just "washed up old AL East players".  They can both fill certain roles effectively.

I agree Ivey, I think Boston is ready to take over the AL. They're like the anti-Yankees; Young, fast, and strong in the rotation. Sorry New Yorkers but you're gunna be upset this year.

At least Duke isn't like the Yankees.  They aren't getting the cream of the crop as far as high school basketball players go.  Coach K wins because he's a great coach, and their players are still real good (just not the very best there is).  The Yankees try to buy the absolute best players available, so they can overwhelm every other team.  That's why I think it's great that they didn't win for so long.

Also, Jeter is one of the most overrated players IMO.

I hate Duke and the Yankees as well... But I also hate the Red Sox, now. When they almost lost they were so much easier to embrace now they're just annoying. They always complain about the Yankess spending, yet they spend the second most every year

I know that the Red Sox spend more than anyone else (except the Yankees of course).  I just use that fact because I hate them.  If the Sox do complain about the Yankess spending, I can understand you not liking them for that, but what other reasons are there?  You said that you could embrace them when they lost, but you hate them now that they won.  Are you hating them just because they won?  Honestly, I would figure that their winning twice would just make anyone appreciate them a little bit more (the same would probably be true for anyone that likes the Cubs).

The fans attitudes were just better when they were losers... Now they're annoying. I swear it's like they try their hardest to emulate the team they hate.

I'm not sure what that means.  I am a Red Sox fan, but I don't live in Boston.  So maybe there is something that I am missing.
