NY Mets and Donald Trump?
After gaining approximately $300 million in Bernie Madoff's "Ponzi scheme" and countless overpaid free-agent acquisitions, the NY Mets are struggling to say the least. Now Donald Trump has expressed interest in becoming the majority owner of New York's "other team." If I'm Bud Selig, I am praying that Trump gets involved.

I agree that Trump would be good for the Mets and baseball as a whole, but I bet Selig really doesn't want this to happen. I feel like baseball, more than any other sport, just doesn't like change or outsiders "infiltrating" their secret club. MLB needs to join the rest of us in 2011.

If Trump were anything like Steinbrenner as an owner (yes I hated the guy, being a Red Sox fan, but I can admit that he tried his hardest to make his team a winner) than it could be great for the Mets.  The team has it's share of bad moments in it's history, but this team has also been a champion.  It would give the Yankees an in-state rival as well.

Say what you want about guys like Trump or Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban, but as businessmen they get the job done. Baseball needs someone like Trump. A public figure with endless money and an ego to go with it.
