NBA Lockout/Contraction
The NFL has huge issues in regards to whether or not there will actually be games next year, but the NBA is in the middle of their own issues. I'm not as familiar with the NBA's problems, The NFL's collective bargaining agreement deadline is sooner and more intense. I feel like NBA owners have to be more willing to side with the players for a few reasons. For one, in the NBA individual superstars carry the league way more than the NFL which relies on teams. There is so much young, athletic superstars all over the league that talks of contraction just baffle me, apparently New Orleans is on the chopping block. More importantly, however, is the fact that the NBA actually has international competition. In recent years we've seen a number of players pick leagues in Europe over the NBA. Don't get it twisted the NBA is the premier league on the planet by a long shot, but players can go to different leagues around the world and make a lot of money. What would NFL players do if they didn't have a season? Go to Canada? There is really no other option besides the NFL.

Who is the Jacksonville team in the NHL? I think every major sports league needs to contract some teams. Any team that loses every year with no hope of ever winning, and/or teams that don't carry a good enough fanbase need to go. The latter seems unfair to a degree, but that is the fault of the fans that don't want to support their teams. If a team that sucks doesn't get enough support, then that makes sense. However, look at the Devil Rays last year. They are a contender to win it all & the fans shit on them. Those fans don't deserve to have a team.

Yeah Ivey's right there's no Jacksonville team, I think you were thinking of Tampa or Miami.... I can see contractions happening in every league except the NFL. There is so much parity, 10 different NFC Championships in 10 years. Think about the worst teams this past season, Carolina and Buffalo. Carolina was in the Super Bowl like 5 years ago and Buffalo wnet to four in a row... I know that was 20 years ago but still! Look at the Rams; They were terrible for a long time then the "Greatest Show on Turf" basically changed NFL offenses. Then they were abysmal, one win in 2009, and now they're knocking on the post-season's door again.
