Cubs beat "Black Sox" to the punch
I read an article taht said the infamous 1919 Chicago "Black Sox" got the idea of throwing the World Series from their north side neighbors the Chicago Cubs who allegedly did the same thing the year before. There isn't really any proof but baseball historians say that it is very possible that it occured. The players made little money and the owner's even with held some of the money they were supposed to pay players for making the Series. It got to the point where the two teams refused to go onto the field until they got the money they were promised. However, knowing they would lose the battle of public opinion during WWI with the stadium filled by soldiers they took the field, but maybe found ways to make way more than their owners promised. What do you think Chicagoan's?
