All-Star Game
The 2011 All-Star game had the lowest tv ratings in All-Star Game history. What do you guys think should be done to ressurect this game? Or do you think it was just a product of big market guys like CC, Jeter and A-Rod sitting out made this year an anamoly?

I think they should do it at the end of the season. If they did that they can keep everything else the same, if not I have a few easier changes that could help. First, reduce the number of all-stars. This year there were 84 people who will go down in the record book as being a 2011 all-star. Of course, alot of those guys didn't show up but even so that many players makes it impossible to play an actual real game. Pitchers only throw an inning, players only get 2 at bats. Put the pitchers on a strict pitch count and don't throw guys that played the Sunday before. But if Halladay is reeling and his count is decent keep him in all game. Same with hitters. My last proposition is way more extreme and probably next to impossible, but they should eliminate inter-league play. An All-Star game is way more appealing when we don't see these guys ever face eachother.

Am I the only person who feels like interleague play has diminished the fan's interest in the All Star game and World Series?  It always seemed pretty awesome to me that those were the only times you saw the AL & NL play each other.  Maybe I'm the only person who feels this way.

Interleauge play and free-agency have both diminished the whole National League vs. American League rivalry. Guys change teams and league's all the time so there's no real intrigue about what it would be like if players met in the World Series. A lot of guys didn't play at the All-Star Game but the ratings weren't even half of the Women's World Cup Final, and the baseball game was on Network T.V.
