Competitive Eating
Has any body else noticed how huge the Nathan's Hotdog eating contest has become? It's now an hour long ESPN extravaganza and the crowd at Coney Island is huge. There's no way that eating is a sport, but damn these guys are disgustingly amazing.

I never have, and still don't really care much for competitive eating (at least not enough to watch it).  I thought that Kobayashi was a cool story though.  Little Japanese guy that would eat huge amounts of food like that.  I cannot stand Joey Chestnut, and wish that Kobayashi will come back to take over again (not that I care that he does in general, but just so I maybe don't have to see Chestnut's face as much).  That's my take on the subject lol.

Kobayashi took it to the next level. They've been doing the 4th of July competition since 1916, but we came on the scene he literally doubled the previous record. he was so much better than anyone before him, I can't even come up with a sports comparison.

Kobayashi was like the Babe Ruth of hot dog eating... Although in his day Babe Ruth was probably the Babe Ruth of hot dog eating. He hit so many home runs in a time when no one was doing it. When he hit 54 home runs in 1920 the next closest person to him of all-time only had 27 in a single season.

LOL "Babe Ruth was probably the Babe Ruth of hot dog eating." That is priceless! That actually is a good comparison. Honestly, no one really single handedly elevated their sport more than Babe Ruth. Think about it, MJ came in when the league was already thriving. He was more universally recognized than anyone before him, but he did not really change the way the game was played. In fact, Wilt Chamberlain did more than MJ.
