Cotto/Margarito
The big rematch is hours away and I'm really interested in this matchup for obvious reasons. The controversy of the first fight, the impact that fight has had on both men and the chance of redemption for both. Can Cotto recover from the fierce beating he took at the loaded hands of Margarito a few years ago? Can Margarito prove himself fairly and be readmitted into boxing's ring of trust? It should be interesting but I think Cotto is going to win.

If Margarito is really a "shot" fighter now, then I would give Cotto the edge here as well.  Cotto may have also taken too much damage in his career (mostly in the one fight against Margarito), but he at least has better skills to fall back on.  Either way I think this fight may be more brutal than the first, because it seems like both fighters have more emotionally invested in it than they did the first time around.

I have trouble accusing Margarito of cheating in any of his fights before Mosley.  I understand he was caught trying to do something illegal before the Mosley fight, but I can't accuse him of doing it before that without any evidence to prove he did so.  I think I remember Shane Mosley saying that he was on steroids for the second fight against Oscar (not sure if he said he was using for any other fights), so I can understand anyone saying he deserves less or even no credit for his win.  However, I would think it's unfair to say Shane did cheat in other fights without an addmission or any reasonable proof that he did so.  On top of that, it's not too unbelieveable that he did what he did against Cotto.  Margarito was a beast of a welterweight, as far as being so big and durable.  The beatdown he put on Cotto could have been from loaded hands, or maybe it was legit.

I think Cotto's done. You always hear the experts talk about how hard it is for a fighter to rebound after a beating like Miguel took in their first bout.

Did anyone see the fight? I haven't seen it yet but I saw some quick higlights and it seems like a good fight. I wonder weher Cotto goes from here.
